Games of Chance: How to Play
- In 1895 a young mechanic
by the name of Charley Fey introduced the first Nickel-in-the-slot machines
to the gambling palaces of San Francisco.
- "The Liberty Bell" the name
of the first slot machine, displayed playing cards and horseshoes on
its reels. Others had three bars labeled "Bell Fruit Gum", dispensed
a stick of chewing gum and when the three bars lined up in a row, paid
a Jackpot in coins.
PROGRESSIVE
- Progressives are the kinds
of machines that could change your life with a single pull. They keep
adding to their Jackpot until they are finally hit.
SLOT MACHINES
- Check the display panel
on the front of each machine. The panel shows you what the different
winning combinations pay and the number of coins necessary to effect
the payout. Please remember that some machines pay the entire Jackpot
automatically. Some pay only a portion in coin and the balance is paid
by a Slot Attendant. If you are in doubt, stay with your machine and
wait for a Slot Attendant to assist you. You can obtain coins for all
slot machines from our nearby booths, carousels or our friendly Change
Attendants. It is the responsibility of the Player to see that each
coin played is registered on the lighted display before pulling the
handle. If coins do not register, do not pull the handle. Call a Slot
Attendant and report the malfunction. The slot machine will pay according
to lighted displays only.
BLACK JACK
- The object of the game is
for you to draw cards that total 21 or come closer to 21 than the Dealer.
All cards are at face value, except for the King, Queen and Jack which
count as 10, and an Ace will have a value of eleven unless that would
give a Player or the Dealer a score in excess of 21, in which case it
shall have a value of 1 (one).
BIG SIX
- Nothing is simpler to play
than Big Six. All you do is place your chips on the number or symbol
of your choice. The Dealer will spin the wheel and the number it stops
on is the number that wins. You can bet as many numbers as you want.
- All bets must be placed
prior to the Dealer announcing "No more bets" and before the wheel is
spun. Check the Payout Odds on the chart.
CARIBBEAN
STUD
- Caribbean Stud is a five
card stud poker game. To play, you must first place a wager in the Ante
Box. All ante wagers must be made prior to the Dealer announcing "No
more bets." You receive five cards face down and the Dealer receives
four cards face down and one card face up.
CRAPS
- A Craps game in full swing
is a very fast and exciting game to play and to watch! To the Player
it can be very confusing trying to understand the strange calls from
the stick Dealer, and the multitude of betting options on the table.
A high level of concentration is required by the Dealers and the Supervisors.
Let's start with an explanation of Craps terms and how they apply to
the game.
COME OUT
ROLL
- This is either the first
roll of the dice with a new shooter, or the first roll of the dice after
the shooter has made a point. A point is established on the Come Out
Roll if the shooter rolls 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. This point must then be
rolled again before a 7. Any Player, including the shooter, may either
bet on the Pass Line or the Don't Pass Line prior to the Come Out Roll.
PASS LINE
- An even money wager, a
Pass Line bet is placed immediately prior to the Come Out Roll. You
win if a 7 or 11 is rolled and lose if a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled. If any
other number is rolled it is marked as the 'point'. This point must
be repeated before a 7 to win. Pass Line bets cannot be reduced or removed
after the point is established.
DON'T PASS
LINE
- An even money wager, a Don't
Pass Line bet must be placed immediately prior to the Come Out Roll.
You win if a 2 or 3 is rolled and there is a 'stand-off' if a 12 is
rolled. If a 7 or 11 is rolled you lose. If any other number is rolled
it becomes the point. When you are betting on the Don't Pass Line you
are betting that the shooter will not repeat their point before a 7
is rolled. A Don't Pass Line bet can be removed or decreased after a
point is established, however, it may not be replaced or increased after
such removal or reduction.
COME BET
- A Come Bet can be made after
the Come Out Roll. The rules governing the Come Bets are exactly the
same as for the Pass Line.
DON'T COME
BET
- A Don't Come bet can be
placed after the Come Out Roll. The rules governing the Don't Come bet
are exactly the same as for the Don't Pass Line.
ODDS BET
- A Player shall be allowed
to make an Odds bet when they have a bet on either the Pass Line, Don't
Pass Line, Come or Don't Come.
FIELD BET
- A Field bet can be made
on every roll of the dice. If 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled, you win even
money for your bet. If a 2 or 12 is rolled you win double your bet.
A Field bet loses if a 5, 6, 7, or 8 is rolled. The Field is a one roll
bet.
PLACE BETS
- The Place bet numbers are
4, 5, 6, 8,9 and 10. You may bet on any or all of these numbers at any
time. If the number or numbers that you are betting on roll before a
7 you win according to the Place Bet Odds shown in the Payout chart.
If a 7 rolls the Place Bets lose except on the Come Out Roll when the
Place Bets are inactive.
BUY BETS
- The rules that apply to
Place bets also apply to Buy bets: the only difference being that a
5% commission is charged entitling the Player to receive the true odds
on any particular number as listed on the Payout chart.
LAY BETS
- You may Lay a bet against
a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 at any time. The bet loses if the number rolls
before a 7. A 5% commission is charged based on what the bet will win.
Lay bets always have action. Refer to the Payout Chart for the odds
and the payoffs.
PROPOSITION
BETS
- These bets are handled by
the stick person and are one roll bets. Unless requested otherwise,
winning bets will be paid and left in action. Proposition bets are as
follows:
- Any Seven: You can
bet Any Seven (Big Red) on any roll of the dice. If the 7 is rolled
you will be paid 4 to 1 and your bet left up: if any other number is
rolled you lose.
- Any Craps: You can
bet on Any Craps at any time: The bet wins if 2, 3 or 12 rolls and will
be paid 7 to 1. If any other number is rolled the bet loses. There are
various other bets such as Horn Bet, Horn High Bet or a World Bet that
the Supervisor or Dealer will be happy to explain to you.
- Hardways: There
are four Hardways combinations. The Hard Four (two 2's), the Hard Six
(two 3's), the Hard Eight (two 4's) and the Hard Ten (two 5's). You
win if the Hard Way combination that you are betting on is rolled before
an easy way or a 7. For instance, if you were to bet on a Hard Six,
you will win if a six is rolled with two 3's before an easy way 4-2
or 5-1 or 7. Hard Way bets are inactive on the Come Out Roll. See the
Payout chart for the odds and payoffs.
Ride Stud
Poker
- Welcome to the exciting
game of Let it Ride Stud Poker. This is an exciting game that anyone
can learn to play.
- Each Player will place 3
equal but separate wagers. Bet #1, Bet #2 and Bet #3.
- Each Player shall be dealt
three cards.
- Two cards will be dealt
to the community card area of the layout.
- The Dealer will ask each
Player, in turn, if they would like to take down Bet #1 or let it ride.
- If the Player chooses to
let it ride, Bet #1 remains on the layout.
- If the Player chooses to
take it down, the Dealer removes Bet #1.
- The Dealer will then expose
one of the two community cards.
- The Dealer will then ask
each Player, in turn if they would like to take down Bet #2 or let it
ride
- . A. If the Player chooses
to let it ride, Bet #2 remains on the layout.
- B. If the Player chooses
to take it down, the Dealer removes Bet #2.
- C. The Player will tuck
their cards under the last remaining bet.
- The Dealer will then expose
the other community card.
- The Dealer shall then expose
the cards of the Players.
- The two community cards
and the three cards dealt to each Player shall form the five card poker
hand of each Player.
- In order to qualify for
a payout, a Player's hand must have a rank equal to or higher than a
pair of tens. Hands containing less than a pair of tens shall lose,
and the wager shall be collected.
- All winning hands shall
be paid off at odds depending on the hand (i.e. pair of Tens through
Aces pays 1 to 1 up to Royal Flush which pays 1000 to 1.
Midi Baccarat
- As in regular Baccarat,
Midi Baccarat involves just a few decisions: how much you want to bet
and whether to bet on the Bank, the Player or on the "tie" bet. In betting
on the Bank, the casino will collect 5% commission on money won. There
must be sufficient chips in the "circle" to pay the commission on a
winning Bank hand before the hand is dealt. A winning "tie" bet pays
8 to 1.
- In Midi Baccarat eight
decks of cards are used and just as in Mini Baccarat, the cards are
shuffled by the Dealer, placed in the shoe and are then dealt by the
Dealer.
- The game starts with four
cards dealt from the shoe, forming two hands, one called the Players
hand, the other the Banker's hand. The initial four cards are dealt
alternately from the shoe. The first and the third cards dealt are placed
face down for the Player's hand. The second and fourth cards dealt are
placed face down until the Player's hand is called. At this time, the
second and fourth cards shall be turned face up for the Banker's hand.
THE RULES
- As in the game of Baccarat,
if the point count of either hand is 8 or 9, it is called a natural,
and no additional cards are drawn. The cards are dealt according to
set rules. There are no options regarding drawing the third card for
either Player's or Banker's hand. No more than one additional card will
be drawn to each hand. The Dealer announces the point count of the Player's
hand and the Banker's hand and draws additional cards if appropriate.
- After all bets have been
made, the Dealer will call "No more bets" then the cards will be dealt.
- The hand closest to 9 wins
and shall be paid at odds of 1 to 1. If both the Player's and Banker's
hand result in identical totals, the "Tie" bet wins but the Player's
and Banker's neither wins nor loses.
- Any card from 2 to 9 shall
have its face value. Ace equals 1. Deuce is two. All tens and face cards,
or any combination of them have no value. When the total of the cards
exceeds 9, the first digit of the total is dropped, because in the game
of Midi Baccarat, all hands must be a single digit number from 0 to
9. So: 9 + 5 = 4. Jack + Ace = 1.
- These charts describe the
fixed rules governing the drawing of additional cards.
Seven Card
Stud
- Seven Card Stud is played
by up to 8 Players. Each Player who wishes to receive a hand must first
post an ante. The Dealer will then deal each Player 2 down cards and
1 up card. The Player who receives the lowest rank card by suit will
start the first 5 rounds of betting as follows:
- 1st Round: After
the 2 down cards & 1 up card have been dealt.
- 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Round:
After each of the next 3 up cards.
- 5th Round: After
the 7th and final card has been dealt.
- The Dealer will award the
pot to the Player with the highest-ranking 5 card hand.
THE ROULETTE
WHEEL
- Roulette is fun and easy
to play. You can bet straight up, which means your bet is on any of
the 38 single numbers which include 0 and 00. Also you can place combination
bets - bets divided over a combination of adjoining numbers. Here you
see letters that represent the various types of bets in the game of
double zero Roulette. The chart shows their winning odds. For instance,
if you place an "A" type bet, it could be on the number shown, or any
number on the table, or you could place an "H,"type bet as shown on
the line adjoining 7 where it pays 7-8-9. CAUTION: Where you place your
chip or chips on the Roulette table is very important because this determines
your bet.It is the Player's responsibility for proper placement.
- Now, for the game. The Dealer
spins the Roulette wheel in one direction and a small white ball in
the opposite direction. Bets may be placed on the Roulette table until
the Dealer announces, "No more bets". When the ball comes to rest, the
Dealer calls out the winning number and then all winners are paid.
- One last thing. When you
place an even money bet on 1-18, 19-36, odd, even, red or black-and
the ball comes to rest on 0 or 00, you lose all of those bets.
- If you are wondering how
your bet is kept separate from everyone else's, it is because different
colour chips are used. The value of the coloured chips is determined
by the Player when purchasing a stack or stacks of chips. These chips
are redeemed before you leave that particular game
Pai Gow Poker
- Pai Gow Poker is a blend
of Western Poker with the traditional Asian game Pai Gow. It is played
with a standard deck of 52 cards plus one Joker, which can only be used
as an Ace or to complete a Straight , a Flush a Straight Flush or a
Royal Flush.
- Each Player receives seven
cards which must be arranged into two separate hands: A five card "highest"
hand, also called the "high" or "back" hand and a two card "2nd highest
" hand, also called the "low" or "front" hand.
- The Player wins the bet
at even money, if both the "front" and the "back" hands (arranged by
the Player) beat both of the Banker's corresponding hands. The Player
loses the bet if both the Player's "front" and "back" hands rank lower
than, or are equal to , the corresponding hands of the Banker. If the
Player beats the Banker on one hand, and loses on the other, the bet
is a "push." (If either hand ranks exactly the same as the Banker's
hand, this is a "copy" hand, and the Banker wins all "copy" hands.)
The casino handles all bets and collects a 5% commission on all winning
hands.
- After all bets are placed,
the Banker will shake the dice to determine the position for the first
card dealt.
- All cards (7 hands plus
4 remaining cards) will be dealt out regardless of how many Players
are seated at the game. In order to be included in the current round
of play, a Player must be seated and have a bet placed before the Dealer
calls "No more bets."
- The Dealer will offer (in
counter-clockwise rotation) the opportunity to Bank the game to each
Player who wagered a bet during the most recent round of play in which
the Dealer was Banker. (The Banking Player may ask the Dealer to play
a hand and make a bet equal to or less than the amount that the Player
bet during the last round.) A Player who accepts the Bank must have
sufficient gaming chips on the table to cover all of the wagers placed
by the other Players during that round of play.
- The Dealer will call for
the Players and the Banker to set their hands and will turn over each
Player's hand (in counter-clockwise rotation) to determine the outcome.
